No. Firearms are an extremely important part of peaceful coexistence. Firearms make everyone equal. It is that ability to effectively defend oneself, regardless of physical size or infirmity that allows society to follow a more humane path than the old "Survival of the Fittest" mentality.
When the first repeating pistols were made available in the old West, do you know what people called them? They called them the equalizer. Why? Because for the first time, the good people were no longer at the mercy of the outlaws. The individual had in his hand the ability to inflict multiple fatal injuries on his attackers. That is an important part of a free society.

No. Guns have their place in society. Self-defense, hunting, defending one's country, and ownership by citizens that helps prevent totalitarianism.
To Happy day: Hunting for fun is actually very rare. Most hunters are either hunting for food, like myself, hunting to prevent overpopulation, or hunting animals that are dangerous.
To Gods girl: I know of nowhere where a person under 18 (which almost all school shootings are perpetrated by) can legally buy a gun, much less get a license to carry it, particularly if that person has a depression disorder. They either steal from someone (who should have better security for their guns) or get them black-market.

Since I'm going to be a police officer, no.
Nothing as intimidating to someone who just wants to give you sh!t as when you put your hand on your gun and unsnap the snap while the conversation keeps going. Of course without the intent of shooting anyone any time soon. I personally prefer the tazer first.
Plus guns are a great way of defense.. I can't think of many other ways you can make someone question how much longer they're going to live when there's an actual problem and you put a gun to their face.

"Guns" are a part of the violent progression of our world.
What I really wish had never happened was the first use of any weapon against another. Since that time the weapons have evolved to the point of now being able to destroy the entire planet. "Guns" are just one more step to total annihilation.
Peace.

No...I do not wish that. I do not wish to change the past because what happened then had an affect on the way things are now.

NO! I agree to all of you who thinks that guns are not the problem, because it's the people who wants (not forced, in case there's a war) to use guns! Guns don't kill living creatures, humans kill living creatures!
