They should be cautious with their players to avoid injury, but if they have a chance to go undefeated you know Belichick will go for it because he's got "something to prove" or whatever. I bet they even do up the game plan for Matt Cassel. But wouldn't be surprised if Brady played at the start, hoping to get a big lead early that Cassel couldn't blow.

If there are any NFL records within reach, Bellicheck will play them the entire game. For example, if there's 10 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter and Brady has only 47 TDs on the year (the only record I know offhand, but I'm sure this won't be the specific case) - you can bet the farm he'll go all out to break the record, regardless of the possible ramifications (injury, etc)

Interesting question....

Based upon what the Pats have been doing this season, you would think that they will, but realistically, I think they will only play a quarter or so because they would have the homefield advantage through the playoffs no matter what (the only team in your scenario that would be able to have the same record would be the Colts, but obviously, the Pats have the head to head advantage, so they'll get the number 1 rank).

It just is too risky to play them a full game, but rather than have them come out rusty in the playoffs, I think the Pats would play them for a couple series and then let the second stringers play out the game.

If Bill Belichik still has his starters in the game going for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter when up 38-0 then it's a pretty safe bet that New England's starters will be playing deep into the final game with the Giants.

They will not rest their starters. If anything they will rotate them more. Probably see overall less plays thru 3 quarters than usual (other than Brady) and if the game is well in hand they would rest more in the forth.

They have been on this full 60 minute kick since they lost to Indy last year so don;t expect players to rest any time soon.

As for Austin ... what in the hell are you talking about? Second time I've seen you pipe in about cheaters. Getting annoyed. Just sit there and enjoy your Trojans and leave answers to people with an IQ higher than your surf board.

Are you asking our opinion...or what will happen?

My opinion is that should go for it if undefeating...meaning start your guys and get into the history books. Once the game is done...sit your guys.

What they will do...they'll go for it. If anything Belichek has proven that he will do whatever it takes to win. He showed no mercy to the Redskins. What makes anyone think he'll show some to the Giants? He has rings...another one is no big deal, but they have the opportunity to go down as the greatest team to ever play and he won't let the Giants ruin that.

They should treat it as a preseason game. Have Brady and Moss play the first quarter, then let them sit out. They would be stupid to leave Brady in the whole game. The Giants have the most feared pass-rush in the league right now with Strahan and Umenyiori. He definitely risks getting injured if he stays in.

If they were smart, they wouldn't start their starters. Keep them healthy for the play offs.
Seahawks did it a few years ago. They gave up on the perfect season to keep their starters healthy. If you are going to win, you need to have the starters healthy. When they cinch the home field for the playoffs, then there is no need to try to hurt the starting players. To me, its common sense, however, more records could be broken if the starters played, but the game isn't about the records, its about winning the Super Bowl

It is not to go 16-0 that matters, it is ot get your team ready for the playoffs, so it will matter then. The pats did not roll up scores as much as play 60 mins in a game . This is why they beat the colts, better conditionong in the 4 th quarter.

The Pats have a lot to prove with the scandals of this yr (video taping, running up score). If they are still undefeated, they will play everybody to try and win. Chances are that the Giants will need to play their stars for a playoff berth, so it should be a good game.
