It means that believes in monogamy, just not now while he's young. He probably wants to explore some more.

Try to find a guy with less testosterone.

He wants his cake and eat it too. He believes in monogamy until someone interesting comes along. Then he cheats.

Monogamy is used to refer to the state of having a sexual relationship with only one partner. It also means the state of being married to only one person at a particular time. Your b/f is ,perhaps, warning you in advance that he may maintain more than one relationship simultaneously.

He may not be faithful to you.

If he is of Islamic pursuit in his country he can have up to 4 wives.

Read up on "Polygamy" and "monogamy" both, try Googel.

In USA he may have open marriage.

Sounds like to me he wants some other females. How else would someone interpret that?

Of course you could always do the flip side and say "Great, I can have more than one boyfriend!" I bet that would shut him up.

I would take it as meaning he is not sure of committing to one woman at this time.

Take it exactly as he says it.
He is NOT ready to be in a one-on-one relationship.

Why don't you ask him? I'd take it to mean that he's prone to cheating.
