We read that far from being united behind the McCanns the rest of the notorious group of serial child neglectors gang, the 'Tapas 9', are on the verge of grassing Kate and Gerry up to the Police if a deal can be struck to maintain their anonymity.

Is it now only a matter of time before the 'Tapas 7' change their story and sell out the McCanns to save their own skins ?

I note in this story that Clarence speaks of the 'friends lawyers' - I always believed lawyers spoke with their clients and nobody else. How on earth would Clarence know anything?? "pressure from the McCann side", mmmm one wonders what pressures they have endured so far.

If the story is true, then it can only be a good thing....I hope it brings to light what really happened on the night of 3rd May.

We may just see a new and very welcomed headline not long after:

Madeleine McCann Found Safe And Well....

I'll have a good drink that day to celebrate.

I wouldn't class it as "grassing" I'd say it was more like coming clean and doing the right thing. If they do they will be heros as we all want the truth to be known for Madeleines sake.

I agree with Jack.I think it could be the Paynes because they were the only ones to use a baby monitor on the holiday and they didn't attend the church service last Saturday ,saying it was a family time so perhaps they are distancing themselves.

I don't know what to believe anymore with this case. The papers do what they have to in order to sell them, and the McCanns have been on the front pages of both the Mail and Express for the majority of the last 6 months. I take what's written with a pinch of salt, because we don't know what's true and what isn't in this case, because there have been so many lies printed. It is strange, but then again, what isn't odd about this case? If it's true, then I hope that their information leads to everybody finding out what happened to that poor little girl.

As much as I am pleased to hear some truth might finally come from the Tapas 9, I really cannot imagine why they are asking for anonymity.
It will have to come out, and they ought to kiss goodbye to any friendship, accept the truth needs telling and get on with it. If they lose their friends so be it, they will make more, its not as important as a missing child.

Why not wait and see what they are changing about their statements before jumping to conclusions?
