Hello Mommies and Mommies to be. Before I call my dr and sound like a paranoid freak, I was wondering if any of you could tell me a reason why at 26 weeks I would be spotting and cramping. It started Saturday, the spotting is not heavy at all it doesn't even get on my pantyliner just on the tissue when I wipe. I was fine all day Sunday but then it happed again Monday night before I went to bed. That time I got a little cramping. Well yesterday afternoon I got a little pinkish on the tissue again but now the cramping went on into the evening and last night. Between 1 and 3 am the cramping was a little harder. Can this just be the baby growing and my cervix changing? Suggestions/Ideas? Personal experiences? I had a miscarriage 2 yrs ago and I guess I'm still a little scared.

- I know spotting can come after intercourse and that's not it. Unfortunetly :o\
-And I have not lifted or done anything heavy. But I do sit most of the day at work.
Thank you.

After reading all of your answers I had no choice but to .....FREAK OUT! But in a good way. I never saw coming on here as a waste of time, to me this is like talking to "the girls in the office". I work with a bunch of male cops and I don't think they care to hear about my bleeding vagina. :o\

Thank you for your responses and information I did call my dr and he saw me right away. Thankfuly it was nothing. Not even a bladder infection. He checked my cervix and all is intact, I have not lost my mucus plug so therefore no early labor either and placenta previa would have shown up on my sono. But because of all this info I knew exactly what to ask. He put me and baby on a monitor and we did just fine. I have to go back tomorrow for a follow up. He did say I have to relax and get some rest because it does seem I'm stressing. Thanks again!

Cramping and spotting during pregnancy can indicate the possibility of some serious complications. Below is a link for BabyCenter.com that specifically talks about just this. I would suggest a brief look at the page and an immediate trip to your obgyn office. If they will not see you, go to the ER and find a new obgyn. Your concerns during your pregnancy should be addressed by your obgyn. Allowing yourself to become overly stressed during pregnancy can also cause some complications or make current complications more difficult to address.

Please, don't hesitate to call or go to your obgyn office when ever you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of your expected child.

I'm pregnant with #2 and never had spotting and cramping. I would definitely call your doctor immediately. You are not being "paranoid" because spotting and cramping together are never a good combination. Good luck to you!

there is no reason i can think of for spotting and cramping at 26 weeks go to hospital immediatley,as its not worth risking yours or your childs life,as it could be serious and if it not at least it will put your mind at rest, please dont hesitate there is no such thing as being paranoid whilst pregnant,go and get it checked out as it dont sound right to me.

Call your doctor. I wouldn't risk ANYthing. As for sounding like a paranoid freak...all mothers to be are paranoid freaks, they are used to it.

It could be Placenta Previa, which is dangerous. Or it could be early labor, also dangerous.

Call your OB right now!!!
