ok so i got a 360. but the only problem is idk how to connect it properly. i know that the av cables go into the slots by color yes yes but it wont show up on the tv!

however, we have the cox cable thing that gives us extra channels. it looks like a vcr or something, but its not. its something made by motorola and they gave us a remote control with it too.

i remember getting my friends xbox to work at my house, but that was before we got that extra cable thing. we plugged it into our vcr that connects to the tv. but what im wondering is, can i get around the new cable box thing and just use the vcr? argh im so confused. any input is appreciated. thanks in advance!

We used to have a problem like this but we could at least hear sound, something about we had so much equipment piggybacking the xbox signal that the video signal would become corrupted and blue screen us.

plugging directly into the TV A/V jacks is preferable, this will put the xbox screen on one of the input screens or A/V screen, there should be a input button or A/V button on remote or TV to get to this screen.

If you are going to go through a VCR, this usually gets connected to the TV with coaxial, so you need your TV on channel 3 or 4, whichever is selected on the back of the VCR, the xbox screen will then either pop up on the VCR's input, A/V, L1,L2 screen/channels, these are usually located below channel 2 on the VCR channels

If you use it on any equipment that is running in through your VCR, your signal will become corrupted unless you replace your non-xbox A/V cables with expensive, high quality/performance A/V cables which can run past $50

and make sure, if you have xbox 360 with the standard A/V jacks as well as the HD component jacks, that the switch on the base of the cords is on TV and not HDTV

It seems to me like you have a lot of other sources hooked into your television. You might need to change your source to display your Xbox 360. Look for a button on your remote that has an option to change video source. You would be looking for Composite or A/V connection. If that doesn't work, try going to channel 3 or something like that. Hope that helps!

Where you plug it in it should say something like AV1 or AV2 and that is what source you have to change your tv to. Use your remote and either change the channel by pressing the Source button, or the channel button down until you find the channel AV1 or 2.
