I dont think it is. I think its just another word for being spanish and to me, spanish people are caucasian. (the majority) just like how portuguese people are caucasian.

Yeah, i thought so. The only races there are, are white, black, latino and asian. Native people are classified as central asians because people say they originally originated from mongolia and from there they immigrated to other continents. Thats why we have the term "native americans" people of native ancestry, born in america, also, indians are classified as "south or south east asians" considering india is in the asian continent to the south.

Obiviously you are not 'hispanic'.. And no its not a race its a term to describe a large group of people that speak spanish from the continent of America (south and central)... And no Hispanics are not white, im not white... Also i do not labe myself as hispanic. I am Bolivian with the ethnic background of Aymara-mestiza.... Spanish people are from Spain... And the only race is the human race now their are diversity and different ethnic backgrounds within the human race. And you shouldn't label people being caucasian or not.. ask that person they will tell you what they think they are.. Also portuguese people aren't white there are some light skinned one just like there are dark skinned ones too...

The Oxford English Dictionary ( the ultimate authority on the English language) says:
Hispanic
/hispannik/
• adjective relating to Spain or the Spanish-speaking countries of Central and South America.
• noun a Spanish-speaking person, especially one of Latin American descent, living in the US.
— DERIVATIVES Hispanicize (also Hispanicise) verb.
— ORIGIN Latin Hispanicus, from Hispania ‘Spain’.
Hispanic is not a race. The races are Caucasoid, mongoloid anmd *******. Sometimes australoid and amerind are included as races sometimes as subgroups of ******* and mongoloid respectively.
Hispanic is a cultural reference. If you ever visit HispanoAmerica you will see that we have all the races here and all the mixes imagineable.

No way you need to do some research
no hispanic is not a race
and no THE MAJORITY OF HISPANIC PPL ARE NO WHERE NEAR WHITE
there more african and native american than white eventhough they also have white in them some more than others
eventhough some look white your very white washed considering how the spanish exploited and raped so many people of your race to even consider being white
SPANISH people from SPAIN is white
consider hispancs or latinos MIXED
i've been to mexico they look native american in brazil, cuba, domincan republic, and puerto rico most look black
in venezuela most look white
but they are all mixed

Only in America. Hispanic simply means of or relating to the Spanish language or cultures of Spain. It's not a race.

No, it's not a race. Hispanics can be white or black. As far as Spanish or Portuguese peoples, they are Europeans and are caucaians. It's when they mixed with people from the Americas that Hispanics derived. They are not connected to Spain or Portugal. Hope this helps. I remember this from Social Studies.

Yeah, actually there's only three races. That's African, Mongoloid, and European. Latins are of African and euro-descent. Africans colonized Central and South America waaayyy before Columbus, then eventually the Spaniards arrived. So those who are Hispanic are mixed and far from considering yourself white.
