Because he is a rich spoiled brat , has a rich agent who is destroying baseball by his outlandish requests for such money. Just because a man is a great baseball player, is he worth more than the leader of the free world who may actually hold our lives in his hands on a daily basis? Alex Rodriguez is the profuct of the generation of the free agency market when baseball is no longer our pastime but a business that is out to get more and more profits on a yearly scale from the fans who make or break baseball. It is said the fans will make or break baseball but as long as owners are willing to pay such exorbitant salaries to players like Rodriguez, Bonds etc then the game will continue to be a business, the fans would allow themselves to be bloodsucked out by a leech and will further destroy what should be done for the love of the game. Those days are over where anyone can go to a ballpark and not spend a major portion of their paycheck just to have a night out with their families , breathe in fresh air and see our heroes play a game in which yourself and your children after you would love to emulate. When I was a young boy you could sit at the ballgame and pay about $ 30 to get your tickets , have a few hot dogs among you and a coke or beer. Try to get out of a ballpark with a family of 4 or 5 for less than $120 and I think I am conservative here in the estimation. To conclude when players want money more than championships isn't this player and those like him unloyal , selfish and disregarding the fans and their feelings? Is it not also a fan's wish that their team wins the Championship and emulate their heroes to godlike status? As long as we the fans are willing to pay at the gate, then money will be the stimulus for ball players like A-Rod and not championships.
Priorities need to be shaken up.

The answer to this is really quite simple....people will pay to see a team that has him on the team for starters and secondly, you can't deny his production in the regualr season...his stats during the playoff's are quite different. So a team would pay for any player that produces these huge numbers. It fills the seats, it get them TV time and many other benefits. So Alex isn't the issue necessarily....filling seats is!
I think Alex would love to win a championship, what pro player wouldn't? BUT it doesn't matter what team he's with as long as he gets paid the money he wants.

Let's be real here. Yeah, we all want more money from a different company or whatever in the real world, but we don't ask for $350 million for a few years of our time. The guy is selfish and a disgrace to baseball. Why even try to win, or play your best, when you bank so much money regardless if you win or lose? What's an extra $5 million for making the playoffs when you're already getting $300?
It's not fair to the fans, owners, managers, and other players who want their team to win. The guy has no heart left in baseball and he should just take his hundreds of millions he has already and leave.

He's an individual looking out for his best interests...let's face it,how many players with his talent can or will make that kind of big bucks? He's a man looking to stash some cash for him and his family...I wish people would stop that trash about him being a money whore....how many of you would turn down that money, knowing this is your only shot of making it in your lifetime?...and you "fans" wonder why his wife is wearing a T-shirt that has a big "Fxxk you" on it to a Yankee game?-I don't blame her one bit!-the owners don't HAVE to pay him that much money---blame them for the greed fest!!

i know alot of people (fans) think that winning a championship is the greatest accomplishment in sports. but ask any player would you rather have a ring or be in the Hall of Fame, and i think alot would say the HOF.
just look at how many people have a championship ring in baseball, football and basketball but arent in the Hall.
in a fans eyes, yea we care more about rings and championships than how many hall of famers we got on our team.
if thats how A-Rod wants it making money over rings or whateva we cant sit here and critize him over that. hes his own man just like me and you.

Well i don't really know why , but many people goals in every sport is to become a champion and you would do anything for it sacrifice , but in Alex case hes just demanding more money and wants to go to the Red Sox i heard just because they won 2ws rings4 years well if Alex Really wants to be a champion he really needs to start being a team player than money hungry

I've been trying to figure out what all this fan anger towards A-Rod is really all about and I think that finally have my answer.
We as baseball fans like to embrace and sort of adopt the players that play for our home teams. We go into the relationship with the illusion that we care about the ballplayer and the ballplayer cares about us.
When somebody like A-Rod comes along who is so unashamedly a high priced ho it gets us mad and we feel bad that we tried to embrace him in the first place
There is unwritten rule among men that every guy knows ,that although they may make you feel good you never kiss a ho.

I care more about making money at my job then whether or not the company wins any awards. Not the same thing I know, but offering some perspective.

He's a glamour hound and proving to the rest of us what a waste of talent he is.
Were he worth his salt he would see the justification in your statement and sign with a mid-league team (Cardinals, Phillies, Marlins, Blue Jays, Twins, Rangers---should be one from each division, there!) and attempt to couple his skills with any of that team's stars to bring them up to a World Series appearance if not win.
But, we'll see what happens.
I have posted this before, but what kind a whack-job would not love to bat sixth or third in a lineup that has Pujols in whichever slot you're not . . .
Seriously, A-Rod, prove to us you love baseball more than you love yourself!!
