I miss a lot of things...
Not having a care in the world other than what time dinner was.
Playing with friends every day. Simple games of hide-and-seek, ghost in the graveyard, house and store, etc. Back then it was easy to make friends, too! Even if some of us fought, it never lasted more than the day.
Getting up in the morning, leaving the house to meet friends, and not returning until the day was over (except to snack!). Every day was a new adventure.
Those bicycles that took us everywhere!
Muddy spring fun, sunny summer days and summer nights catching lightening bugs, fun fall football games with the neighborhood gang, wonderful snowy winters full of snow fights, snow men, and snow forts.
Having the sense of security my family provided.
Spending Sundays at my grandparents' house. Reading the Sunday comics, having breakfast there, and lounging in front of the tv watching Abbott & Costello and The Munsters!
Drive-in movies with the family.
Going to the local amusement park with the whole family.
The list goes on and on...
Hopefully our kids will look back on their childhood with many fond memories!
:) :)

I miss lying by the ocean with my family. I lived by a beach, and every day, we would watch the sun dip under the clouds and rise above them. Those were the days. I also miss not having to go to University. I miss getting excited whenever my parents told me that Santa was coming. I miss the lollipop tree which was when my mom told me that if you throw the stick from a lollipop into the ground, it would grow into a tree, so I would and everynight when I was asleep, my mom would put a branch in the ground where the lollipop stick was and she would add a bigger one everyh night. Then, a week later, she would hot glue gun lollipops to the branch and I would wake up and scream, "THE LOLLIPOP TREE BLOOMED!" I gave up on Santa before I gave up on the lollipop tree. Thats what I miss from my childhood.

I miss being able to travel more frequently to Europe for Holiday.
Now I am stuck with my responsibilities to teach the undereducated Americans at a respected University.
Although I give my all, I wonder if at times it is really worth it. It's like trying to teach a water fowl to play cricket.
