What J_Maverik said!! i would add one thing.... Make sure you wear dresses that actually fit you. A lot of that has to do with choosing a style that will look good on you, but also you need to try it on to see how it looks! Don't grab something off the rack and run! You have seen women in bad outfits and in good outfits, pay attention to the difference and look at yourself hard in the mirro when you try an outfit on!

The other half of the battle is self-image. Another way to say "work it" is "sell it". Confidence is the most important no matter what you wear, crossdressing or not. For CDs, it's also about learning how to wear a dress without looking like you've never worn a dress (this applies to skirts too). Practice is important and so is careful but surreptitious observation of how women carry themselves and how they move with skirts and dresses.
