OK - first lose the preconceived ideas about Alaskans! You just insulted those of us who are actually intelligent with your prejudice. You call it a "fact" yet there is no conclusive evidence to support it. Intelligent people will look for supportive evidence before being persuaded by a "fact." You may have met some Alaskans who lean toward terrorist tendencies, but I doubt you have met every Alaskan. If they really all leaned toward terrorism, they would surely have given us a taste of their opinions and carried out some sort of terrorist actions in Alaska, don't you think? I haven't heard of them taking place.... I have met a few Alaskans, and while they may be unusual, they certainly are not terrorist-leaning.
You didn't say how old your son is, but I'll bet he's aware of your fear that Alaskans are terrorists; he has found a way to push your buttons and make you freak out. Did you ask him WHY he wants to move to Alaska? The pay for pipeline workers is extremely high, and its a great way to get yourself set up on the way toward financial independence.
I think you should first VERY CALMLY ask him why he's interested in moving to Alaska; see what he says. If he has specific reasons or plans, listen carefully to them. It could be that he met a pretty girl from Alaska! If he doesn't have specific reasons or plans, he's probably pulling your chain.

Maybe your son wants to move to Alaska to combat the Terrorists in their homeland. It is a smart and brave tactic.
If you get over the fact that some Alaskans are terrorists, only about 1 in 17 are really terrorists. You will find that it is a lovely country. There is great cusine like whale blubber and organic snow cones. Also, no polution because everyone rides dogs instead of cars.

Alaska is a really big state, and while it doesnt have a very dense population, I have no doubt that, like most states, there is a very diverse population.
Im sure there are people with terrorist ideals in every state. Not just in Alaska. I dont think that every person that is in Alaska or moves to Alaska is doomed to a life filled with Terrorist ideals.
I think if you've raised your son to be a good sensible young man, he will be safe in Alaska.
Good luck

How old is your son?
Could it be that he's just saying because he knows he'll get a rise out of you?
I've never really heard that Alaska was prone to the breeding of terrorism...
Anyways, I think you should just talk to your son about his future. Ask him about what his interests are and suggest that he do some research. I can't imagine why anyone would want to become a terrorist, it just seems so far fetched and unrealistic and besides there is a real danger if anyone decides to go that route, I mean they could go to prison or someone might just off and shoot them...
Sorry I don't know what else to say, I think there needs to be some background information...

Since when have Alaskans been terrorists? And Alaska is BEAUTIFUL state - you should consider yourself lucky that your son would want to live in such a beautiful untouched place. And if you are serious with this question I suggest therapy. Nip it in the bud but not being so damn uneducated. This question made me *VOMIT IN MY MOUTH! As a parent of two, I am ashamed that there are mothers like you out there. And hopefully your boss catches wind and fires you.

Although I do agree that your son has been badly influenced I don't think you can put all the blame on Alaskans. You must remember that Alaska is next to Canada and although many people consider Alaska to be a U.S. state it is not, it is a fact that it is part of Canada. Alaska was our 49th state until the Canadians politely asked for it and we gave it to them.
Canadians are the real problem here because they are way too liberal and don't know how to stand up for themselves like real Americans do.
I would go punch a Canadian in their face right in front of my son if I were you. Knowing Canadians like I do they won't hit you back and your son will see how wimpy they are. Then you need to let him know that Alaska is part of Canada so unless he wants to grow up and be a pansy he should only move to real American states.
AMERICA ROCKS!!!!!

Where did you get such a rediculous idea about Alaska? I don't think it's true. As far as your son is concerned I would just let it pass for tomorrow he will want to do something else that's how kids are. I would be careful however if your son tells you he wants to move to Alaska with his gay boyfriend bin laden. LOL

Your Alaskan facts are in error. If your son said that he wanted to be a terrorist, I would not trust you to assess the problem, and I think you made this leap from his saying he wanted to go to Alaska. Good luck to both of you..

Your worse than a terrorist your closed minded and ignorant. I personally would never want to live there and would agree people there have a different mind set of being self sufficient and maybe want the govnt to stay out of their lives a littl emore than others but they are far from terrorists. Maybe you need to stop being so ignorant.

I guess you have been a bad mother and have done something so horrible to your son that he feels the only way to get away from you is to move to Alaska and become a Terrorist.
I'm sure once he gets there and is finally away from such a horrible mother he will have a good life.
I hope you are praying for forgiveness, god loves most of his children. but you, not so much.
