Drink a small glass of warm water and take a deep breath before go on stage. When on stage, look at the crowd but don't make eye contact with any of them ( the best way is to look at their heads , they wouldn't know that you are looking at their heads, to them you are looking at them ) If you are giving a talk or a speech, prepare a complete draft of your speech and also write down the key points of you speech, practice your speech with the key points you have written down , don't memorize each and every sentences of your speech because you'll definitely be overcome by nervousness when you forget your sentence on stage. The complete draft of your speech is for standby and for reference in case you need it. it is not for you to read out. You can even do away with the full draft if you are confident with yourself. If you are singing, you just need to practice as much as possible. Memorizing lyrics of a song is much easier than a full speech. So you want have any problem.

I have never had a problem with this. However, my wife did. What I found to help her, was this. Prepare! Prepare! Prepare! Know your subject very well. That is an enormous confidence builder. Then, learn techniques to handle the unexpected. Watch other speakers handle difficult situations. Learn a few phrases and clever quips to use if you get into trouble.

If you know your subject and are prepared to handle issues that may pop up, you will feel much more comfortable. If you are not already doing these things then you are not doing the best you can. Do these things and you will provide an interesting presentation to your audience and feel much more comfortable because you truly will be doing the best you can.

BTW- it is energy you feel, not nervousness.

Take deep even breaths beforehand and visualize yourself as confident and excited to share your message.

Make eye contact with your audience and smile.

Introduce yourself and start off with a humorous story or ask the audience a question to get things started.

Imagine yourself in the audience and realize they want you to do well - no one is out to get you!

Once you're done, thank the audience for their time and attention.

before the actual moment of facing the crowd, tell your mind loudly "i am fine and i will do well"....also it helps if you do it more often or getting used to it. also, practice with your sister or brother and prepare very well so you would be very confident.
