Yes and no, a lot of conflict would be gone and there would be less selfishness and people concerned about only themselves, however ego is often times also what drives people to be better than others and to achieve goals and things like that. Without ego we would not have as much progress as if I don't care about getting recognition for doing something I'm probably less likely to do it.

Getting rid of ego would be like getting rid of the wet in water. Or getting rid of the light in sunshine. Its not possible.

Ego is the identity that makes us who we are. If questions on here were being answered by an emotionless machine, people reading the responses would still have unexpected, even hostile reactions. It is who we are, our ego, that decides what we do and in large part defines reality. By implication, it is who we are that determines our desires and what we want to achieve as individuals and as a group, which also defines reality.

Those who truly seek truth have an advantage; they will always sacrifice animosity and discord for truth and joy.

Everyone wants to be happy. Few are willing to adjust their lives, or should I say their egos, to accommodate true happiness.

No it would have exactly the same value, nothing. There is no value in any of this, it is an excercise in pure ego unless one is here to gain release for the billion souls?

I lean toward blending my ego and inner self. Ego is our strong and reliable protector. I would never want to lose it. However, just because the ego is physically focused, it can still learn new, broader ways to percieve.

Depends.
It would be good because people wouldn't be so big headed and obnoxious.
But it could be bad because people might stop doing good things if they didn't get the credit or respect for doing it.

nothing would ever get done. No advancement would ever take place, there might be less fighting but we would be stuck as a society in one place.

No, it is what drives us.
