So a few thousand people died. Thousands of people die every day. A few thousand is nothing compared to the numbers of people that have died in other countries from our CIA and military police actions. We bombed Iraq every day for ten years (and now we wonder why we can't win their hearts and minds).

Why is everyone so freaked out about terrorism? Your chance of being killed by a terrorist is less than your chance of being killed by lightning which is less than your chance of winning the lottery which is less than your chance of dying in a twisted lump of metal because someone twitched their wrist on the freeway.

I think it is because America is so proud.

I am not saying to forget it. I am saying lets get over it and move on.
I will also add that I am a veteran who has served a tour in Afghanistan.

janice h, I don't see how you can take people who were willing to die for their cause and call them not brave.

You can't get over 9/11 because it justified going into Afghanistan and Iraq (even though Iraq never had terrorists before USA got int here, but anyway, the fear factor still works lol). You can't get over 9/11 because of the media. Okay?
Meh, I'm over 9/11, but we always seem to talk about this post-9/11 world. Ah well.

Fear works and fear is what makes it seem okay that were in a war killing people right now. 9/11 is our reason to fight. So taht 9/11 won't happen again. Back when Peral Harobor got bombed they looked up all the asains I guess becuae they thought taht they were spyies and were angry. Now were killing people in a diffrent contry becuae if we don't then they'll get us. Fear is also what make some people who turn on the TV and see people protesting the war think that they are unpartoitic. wich is quite the opsoit I feel the the bast way you could show love for your conuntry is to make sure it's not being retarded. Wich it is right now. I can not wait until this worthless war is over. 60 form now our decentens will look back on this and think we were kinda dumb for doing what we did just like we do to those who made th e asains go into those camps.

I do believe that if the countries leaders ignored the threat of terrorism then we would all be in terrible trouble, but that goes for drugs, gangs, disease, corruption.... the list goes on and on. Terrorism is just the latest craze to spent taxpayers money on... In any relationship, be it personal or political we as the human race need issues/or adversities otherwise we would get bored of never having to resolve conflicts.

because america believes that terrorism will continue forever and with no protection from it our people will feel unprotected. It is America's obligation to secure us from attacks like that which can cause massive damage. Of course our chances of being killed by a terrorist are less likely than all those other things, but its something that can be preventable

In my case it's because two of the people who died were people I knew. They were on the plane that hit the Pentagon. I hope this answer provides you with a reason why some of us can't forget the events of that day.

You are right we are proud. We are proud of our record of defending those who cannot defend themselves. We are proud of our ability to work hard for what we believe in. We are proud of our young people who fight to defend freedom around the world. Why should we "get over" 9/11? Some people who were not brave and were not proud used us to attack ourselves. These people hoped to bring the United States to her knees, they did not succeed. This is why we remember that day. It is the same reason we remember December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor Day in case you don't know American History.

you're damn right we're proud!!!

We are supposed to be in the strongest, safest & most secure country, and these gooks come in and do something like this to people they don't know.

As far as Iraq - I don't agree with the Iraq war one iota
