On the day I think I may have conceived was 2 days before my last period. My next is due this weekend. If I have conceived on the day I thought, would I not have had my period 2 days later? I just have a weird fluttery feeling in my stomach and am not sure if this is a sign of pregnancy? I will do a test tomorrow am, but just wondered if anyone had had similar fluttery signs and if its likely I am pregnant before I get shock tomorrow?

Everyone is on a different cycle, so it is possible to conceive at any time of the month. Women with a really irregular cycle could even possibly conceive DURING their period. Not only that but if you have sex within 3 days of ovulating, it is possible for the sperm to live up to 3 days in the right environment.

No. The menstrual blood that you have during your period is the lining of the uterus (endometrium). The function of this layer is to serve as a place for the embryo (product of union of the egg and sperm) to attach to the uterus. Without this layer, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get pregnant.

However, some people mistake implantation bleeding for their period. Implantation bleeding is when the embryo attaches to the endometrium (lining) sometimes it causes some vaginal bleeding. This is nothing to be worried about. If you are pregnant, this actually helps your doctor by getting the exact date of conception.

So how do you know if it was implantation bleeding or your period? If it was a period, it should be the same character as your previous periods (how many days you had your period, how strong the bleeding was, etc). If it was a period, then you cannot be pregnant.

If the bleeding that you had 2 days after the day you thought you conceived was different in character meaning less flow of blood, only a few days duration, or just a few drops, then there is a real possibility that you might be pregnant.

In any case, you will know after you do the test tomorrow. If its negative, then there's nothing else to do. If it is positive, you have to go to your doctor to check if everything is ok. This is especially true if the "period" that you had was more than a few drops of blood (AKA spotting).

No, it isn't possible to conceive 2 days before your period BUT it is possible to have bleeding when you are pregnant that you may mistake for a period. So it is possible you are pregnant and the bleeding that you thought was your period wasn't actually a period.

I wouldn't worry about the feelings in your stomach. Some women get bloated and gassy in early pregnancy so I suppose it is a possible sign but lots of people get funny feelings in their stomach and aren't pregnant!

The only way you will know for sure if you are pregnant is to take a test. Since you think you have another period due soon I assume it's been 3-4 weeks since you think you conceived? If so, enough time has passed for you to get a positive result on a home pregnancy test if you are pregnant.

Good luck! I hope you get the result you want.

I had that fluttery feeling too in two of my pregnancies. Also, I did have a period just a few days after conceiving. Sometimes it does happen. Good luck with the test. :-)

It's possible, but not likely. The egg is only fertilizable for about 24 hours, which occurs 12-16 days before your next period. You would not have been able to conceive 2 days before your period, and the sperm would not live long enough to fertilize the next egg. Also, you don't feel flutters until you are closer to 16 weeks along.

I got some twinges low in my right side before i did my test. you could have conceived 2 days before your period as let's face it the female body is a strange thing at the best of times and not every one ovulates to the set pattern all the sites and books suggest! however if you had a period it is unlikely you are pregnant, not impossible, but unlikely. if it were me i'd go ahead and wait to miss a period (and trust me i know how hard it is not knowing, but the longer you leave it the higher the hormone levels will be and the more accurate the test) and then take one.

Yes its possible to concieve before your period. Your best waiting 2 or 3 days till after date your periods due before taking a test as there may not be enuf pregnancy hormones to give u an accurate result.

Doubtful. Your ovulation time begins about two weeks after your last menstrual period, and usually lasts a week to 10 days- the most likely time for getting pregnant. After that, the egg has already moved on.

Save your pregnancy test for a time when you most probably conceived and are due for your period. Doing it tomorrow would waste your money.

actually you are fertile for only like 3-5 days and 14 days before your period. Now if you have regular 28 day cycle periods then its a piece of cake to figure out but if not its a juggling act. Also keep in mind sperm can live a few days so even if you have sex before you are fertile those sperm can still live to get you pregnant when you are fertile because basically thats what happened when we conceived our son. I kept close track of my cycles.

Well up to 6 days before and after a womans period makes it pretty easy to conceive, infact almost a done deal ( NOT 100% CHANCE ) but is a fact that its easier to get pregnant in that time frame than on your average any day of the week sex.
