Ok, I use Wisk, ERA, GAIN or ALL... As I have an allergy to Tide and it's just too expensive. Anyway, I also use SHOUT or SPRAY n WASH as a pre-treater and believe it or NOT I also add about 1/3 c-1/2 c. of regular baking soda to ALL my wash loads....

I would suggest while the wash tub is filling with cold water I use cold/cold on everything unless it's sock/underwear and white/light sheets. Add detergent into the water.. Spray pretreater on the problem areas let it sit for awhile. If you don't have pretreater then by all means use straight detergent on the area(s) let it sit for a few minutes. I generally let the clothing soak for 20 min to an hour before I run them in the cycle. That should help greatly. Also, before you hang the shirts to dry or put them in the dryer check the area's to make sure the stains are gone if NOT launder again.. The dryer will set most stains.. You can also go a step further when you buy your husband shirts you can pretreat them with SCOTCHGUARD available at most hardware stores.. Just follow the instructions.. Future stains will wipe right off ! Good luck

Try using Spray and Wash or Shout or the like, STICK not liquid, on the stains. Be generous with it.

Wash the shirts in the water the lable identifies (hot/warm/cold).

Try using a liquid detergent that contains bleach or the like, about 2-caps vs 1-cap and add it to the water after the tub has filled up. If you're using the "looking glass washer", add the detergent to the wash cycle (just after Presoak).

Lastly, have your man use a wash cloth on his neck and wrists and that might help reduce the stains on his dress shirts. Good Luck!

Ok sounds weird but, squirt the stain with hairspray, it should come right off. Or soak the spot in Methylated spirits for a few minutes then put the garment in the wash. Or treat the stain by first wetting it with some white vinager, the rub in a paste of 2 parts vinager to 3 parts cornflour. Let the paste throughly dry before washing the shirt.

Pour a little shampoo on the cuffs and the neck when he takes them off....this will get those areas nice n clean.
Another trick is peroxide. A little amount poured in with your laundry can help remove stains - including blood.
