Like usual, the Democrats will point their finger at big business and look for a regulatory solution. They love any problem they can tax, regulate, or legislate.
The Bush energy plan had several constructive solutions but they were more worried about their own interests. Bush was a leader in wind power and solar energy in Texas, but Kennedy and Kerry were more worried about the Cape Cod seagulls. They fought him on ethanol which is helping and nuclear which is the only real answer to greenhouse gas.

Currently, Hillary leads the race of the democratic candidates so she'll benefit the most from the perception that the Republican Administration's actions caused the oil spike.
