haha. I personally thought that changing the name to "freedom fries" and "freedom toast" was REALLY petty.

Interesting question. I wonder if any of our Liberal friends are big enough to acknowledge the positive change in international relations between the current administration and the new French administration. Will they acknowledge that the French people actually do like Conservatives and Bush?

France and the US are like sisters and brothers. If your sister does something stupid, better you to tell her than an enemy. We need allies who don't play "yes man."
We have stereotypes about the French that are wrong, and they have stereotypes about us that are wrong. I'm American and I defend my country all the time in France, but I freely admit when my govt is wrong. So do my French friends and family.
Hey, the Renault Laguna is one of my favorite cars. I rent them all the time.

I've always called the "French fries" (or more simply, "fries"), even though they're not really French. They were actually invented by a Belgian.

I don't know anybody who called them freedom fries without rolling their eyes or making air quotes. It was stupid the second they suggested it. Actually, I don't know anyone who calls them french fries ether. Just fries.

Who cares? And, btw, fries were "invented" by the Belgians. And, yes, they need to be eaten with Mayonnaise. Ketchup on fries, disgusting
