It's a Philippine Navy Base! It's about 35-40 miles from Manila! Subic has great beaches, good accommodations, beautiful scenery, and excellent, inexpensive restaurants.

They say it's beautiful there, with parks and Orcas on the water, trained to jump out to the thrill of children watching.
Shouldn't be too far from the Metro Manila area, two or two hours plus drive.

Ok. It also depends on the way you're going to take. If you're going to take the long way (through Porac, Pampanga) it will take you 3-4 hours from Quezon City.
But if you're going to take the new way (SCLEX), it will only take you 2 hours from Quezon City. ;-)
