I believe he didn't actually mean we need to be atacked again.
I believe what he was saying is we need something to unify us again and make us aware that we are already coming into a state of a false sense of security.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with his statement because I haven't had time to look into it, I simply believe that Fox News misinterpreted what he was saying because he used 9/11 as that unifying force.

I would hope he meant unity but either way, it was a poor choice of verbiage. Im tired of politicians using 9/11 for political band-standing.

When 9/11 originally happened, ( and yes libs, it is a real event) I thought this would bring the country together. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. If anything, it has made it more divisive.

I certainly HOPE that's what he meant.

I have also not had time to look into it, but it was a controversial thing to say that can easily be misconstrued and taken out of context.
