Dogs bark for lots of reasons, but mostly it's because they are trying to communicate something. Maybe they need to go outside, maybe they are cold, and maybe they are lonely.
Dogs bark when they are nervous, scared, or happy. It's just the way the communicate. You can teach them when it's appropriate to bark and when it's not. Nearly every community has a dog trainer and a good obedience class is always worth the time and money. I have 3 dogs and they've all been trained. They still bark, but they don't while they are in the house and it has made living with them much easier.
Good Luck

Pretty good answer
My dogs while in the house will bark when an unknown car or person enters the property. If the car or person is known they dont and that person can walk into the house and all they do is stand at door waiting to be patted
