When I am in a sitting I come from a place of calm and meditation. Part of your mind seems to leave you, and there is a sensation of awareness, the feeling you get when you turn around and directly look at the person who is looking at you (how could you have seen them and yet KNOW they were looking at you) . You begin to know something, images and words come to the front of your mind, almost as if they are being put there by someone else. - As they are.......
As for the scientific cause. Science recently found a part of the brain that deals with religion. Aparently the part of the brain activates when in prayer or deep meditation, as though we were designed to believe in God............makes ya think eh?
Our unconcious mind holds the information of the universe, and can release powers we didn't even know we had. Certain states of mind can cause the body to walk on hot coal, mothers have been known to lift cars off their children.
As the universe is built of matter and energy that cannot be destroyed, why should death be the end of us as beings of thought.
If you really want to delve into this, read about Quantum Physics. It recently prooved that conciousness can exist seperate from the physical body, its mankinds greatest mystery, and even as a medium with some experience, a human being that on one day is in awe of God and Spirit and communion with those gone on, and on the other day is filled with doubt fear and cynicism, only to return to the state of grace that comes from that sublte sign that seems to come from no where, yet touches you at your very core.
Science today, cannot explain what it cannot touch, see and measure, science is after all based in quantafiable knowledge. Remember, scientists some time ago questioned if the Earth really was flat, and one day they found out the truth that at the time they could not see!

I love this subject! First, I don't think that science can explain these things. I know, plenty of people claim to be mediums or have seen ghosts, but with all of the weird people out there, most of its probably not true. I know, I believe in both of them but most people don't want to believe or they may think that its weird, so they deny what happens to them. How can science explain this when they don't believe? I don't think that we even have the equipment to find out what's real and what's not. It is interesting and I would love to know how it works.

You are assuming they are "real".

Please provide proof. We will all appreciate it.

Science is limited. And doesn't accept anything outside that which can be demonstrated and repeated in experimental conditions.

So mental telepathy and psychic stuff that many of us do experience at some time (or maybe it's imaginary) is beyond their scope.

Still some things are genuinely false and imaginary. Like a drunk thinking there are bugs crawling all over his skin during detox. Or pixies, or I think ghosts. People just lie sometimes.

It doesn't attempt to. It simply refutes them.

All the things you listed do not exist.

Your question is like asking 'how does science explain that 2 + 2 = 5' It doesn't as its not true, you see?

Science can't explain it yet, because they can't figure out a way to bottle psychic energy. They have theories of psychic energy, which would explain energy that is outside of kinetic energies like ghosts, etc...they just can't measure it yet.

Science explains them easily

Mediums = Scam artists

People who are trained to exploit peoples grief. Studying their reactions in order to make them THINK that the medium is speaking with a passed loved one.

Ghosts are a delusion. You hear creaking, wind blowing, foundation settling etc. An you assume that it is a Ghost
