I can't imagine he would get called Mike Rowe Wave if you name him Michael Rowe Wave. He would either be Mike Wave (for short) or Michael Rowe Wave on formal documents and such (or when he is in DEEP trouble). Because you are using Michael instead of Mike, people might never make the connection unless you want them to and point it out. Now, if you were considering naming him Mike Rowe Wave (not Michael), I would advise you against it because he would get teased, but since you're using Michael, I don't see the harm.

Maybe you could add a third name if you really like the name Mike Rowe...anyways, Mike Rowe is also the name of the host of the program Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel.

I bet Mike would get a kick out of this! Why don't you post this on Discovery.com?

I don't think people will notice unless the full name is spelled out. How often do you say your full name? I rarely do. I just tell people my first and last names, and I shorten my first name to Lou. I only ever spell out my whole name for something official. How often will a child say their whole name? Almost never, unless you encourage them to.

Oh definitely, do it!

You could tell everyone you name him after Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs, and insist the microwave thing was a coincidence. What a namesake! *rawr*

LOL. I hope you are joking! Microwave. Can you imagine the teasing and tormenting you'd be responsible for? Please do not name your child this.
Oh and Jennield I know a Michael Hunt too! We used to work together and there was this older lady who didn't realize what she was saying but she always called him Mike Hunt. LOL.

Having seen alot of names as a teacher and I can tell you that he will be teased ( for sure) if kids learn his full name. It would be very unfortunate if he was to get into trouble defending himself, fighting, etc.. all because of a name that he had no control over. As much as you like the name, you must consider your son and the ridicule that he will have to endure.
For the sake of your son, please consider another name.

SURE I babysat for a boy named Justin Di Nicko Tyme.
Very clever, it is not often that full names are used any way.
