No, being a conservative doesnt mean I wear a GOP hat. I am an independent so I dont expect either the DNC or the GOP to do the right thing. I expect to be let down by both parties habitually.

Today's neo-cons are not conservatives, so true conservatives should certainly feel betrayed.
True conservatives may want a strong military, but they are not interventionists, and do not deliberately attack nations that never attacked us, as these neo-cons have done.
True conservatives do not spend their nation into debt and create the largest socialized giveaway in the history of America, as these neo-cons have done.
True conservatives believe in fiscal responsibility and smaller government. Under the neo-cons we have a larger and more intrusive government than ever in our history.
True conservatives should feel betrayed by Bush....because Bush is neither republican nor conservative. Bush is actually more of an imperialist, with tendencies toward fascism, but most republicans don't want to hear things like this, so they bury their heads.

I know many folks who voted for bush who wished they hadn't now.
I think they do feel betrayed. But on a side note.
We haven't had any terrorist hits here in the states lately.
Alot of people are happy with just that.

Yes we should. Bush has failed to secure the borders, the surge in Iraq should have been done much earlier, Sandy Berger should have been brought up on charges, we should have been building more oil refineries and making nuclear power plants, the list goes on.
I am glad that President Bush has prosecuted the war on terror, he should be doing more though.

I am quite happy with the GOP. They have brought me many things. Tax cuts, high personal income, etc. Why would anyone feel betrayed by a party that is working in the best interest of American citizens?
