Socratic Eros is the force that allows us to reach knowledge, it's a passion, it's philosophy itself in a way. But this kind of love has to be balanced in order to reach the heart of sophy otherwise your soul will fly too high (burning itself as in the Icarus myth) or too low with no possibility of ever reaching wisdom.

It depends on the different interpretations.
Only in the living does the immortal and the mortal come together.
The body is from the elements of water and food and the soul is from the life of the mother and father.
The immortal is the life force some people refer to it as the 'soul' - the Buddhist do not believe in the soul and call the same thing as the 'Nature' - Hindus as the breath or life etc but mean that which is keeping one alive - which one thing with different names.
I do not know what Socrates meant by Eros; but in those times the church was killing and torturing people and was the sole ruler under the various kings or with them.
Eros erotica - meaning sex transmits the life force to another life - child.

He had to manage to live in conflict with his knowledge and the church and could not express things frankly to his students.

Is this logical/reasonable?
Anyway he was killed.
Think of another complicated theses to write - "Know thy self"

Agreement or disagreement is unnatural in this case. I would take much more care in attributing assertions directly to Socrates, as opposed to the intermediaries he happened on.

What Socrates left unsaid is more valuable to posterity.
