Where do i stand legally, on being paid my last wage packet on the last day of my job. I have handed in my notice and i finish in 3 days. The company i work for want to pay me 4 days after i finish. Is this legal/fair?

Well very little happens instantly...four days sounds fair to me...because it takes time to go through everything and determine everything you are owed....might be money held back in the beginning, vacation days, etc....just ask what day you can pick up the check.....then you don't have to wait for the mail....and have a good attitude...you may need a reference from them for the next job....not wise to leave on bad terms.

If your next scheduled payday is 4 days after you finish work then yes it is perfectly normal and legal.

Some states do have laws that say people have to paid on the last day of work, but other states say that the last payment can be paid on the next scheduled payday after the person has left.

You'll need to find out what your state employment law say.

Many states have laws on when you have to be paid your final check. For states that do, it's usually different if you quit than if you are fired. Usually you'd be paid on the next normal payday. It would be rare that they'd have to pay you your final pay on your last day if you quit, and if that's not a regular payday.
