My mom told me not to starting kissing and making out with guys or it would lead to sex and I did with my fiance and it lead to sex. I am now happily married to him but have always regretted not waiting until I was married for making love. Having sex before marriage caused me a lot of heartache.

My dad used to tell me to get in out of the sun. I was a sunbathing fanatic. I would hide in the woods untill the school bus passed and my mom left for work so that I could stay home and lay in the sun. Then I would just tell her that we had a long PE exercise out in the sun. She never questioned it. During the summer I would spend the entire day in the sun and NEVER used a drop of sunscreen. Butter was what we used in those days. I loved to get a squirt bottle of water and put the oscillating fan on myself and bask the whole day long. Now I have all kinds of problems with my skin because of it.I certainly wish I had of listened to my dad.

yes. a counselor told me to leave my family behind and
i decided to stick out the abuse for another 7 years. i
was so wrong. i thought i was doing what the Bible told
me but i wasn't. i wasn't honoring them or ADONAI. see
there is another verse to that says that we are called to
be at peace with each other. and they had/have no
intention following YESHUA. so as a believer i'm not
to associate with those who are in deliberate rebellion
against HIM. so i wish i had listened and perhaps would
have been free sooner from further abuse.

Most of us have suffered regret at some point in our lives. We all make mistakes, too. It's never too late to be happy; it's never too late to start over. A person is only limited by their own thoughts.

Oh yes, so many things. SOme of us are slow learners, but better late than never to arrive, hey?? hahahaha
I know one thing if I had understood it early would have saved me a lifetime of horrible things . I allowed myself to be such a doormate to everyone, thinking if I didnt please ppl, noone would love me, as I had lost all believe in who I was. I had a very good friend that knew I was a Christian, and she tried to teach me that if I belived in God, I had to know who I was. I never really understood it, but I look back and realize part of it I wasnt able to receive it then, and also tho she meant well it wasnt put in the right way. SHe tried to teach me self esteem, and I jsut couldnt let that in, as I had none left. after years of abuse. But, what I do see now, is if we learn to let only God value us and define us, we will be fine. IT is His esteem of me that I now see I had to take on. What if the world loves me, but God isnt pleased with me? It only matters that I know Him, and know of His great love for me, and of mine for Him, that I love Him back the same way and know who I am in Jesus Christ, and that I allow only God to say what I am worth, and He says its a lot. amen.
To know the power I have of the Holy Spirit because of the shed blood of Jesus to overcome, and fulfill the purpose God has given to me and go to my full destiny in Christ.
Once you know those things, there is no turning back.
I am Gods and He is mine. We can all say that, if we will only hear Him believe, Love and obey Him.
But I do see that if I had learned these things years and yearrs ago, I would never have allowed myself to be a doormat to anyone. I thought it brought love, no it only brings abuse, disrespect and self loathing, and serious depression.
PPL dont even like a doormat. ITs terrible to play victim all the time, not at all attractive. But to be strong in Jesus Christ and know who you are, and to be confident because of who you are in Him, what a LIFECHANGING EXPERIENCE. I am still arriving and its all good. I count it all as joy.
Great question, and God bless you to overflow....
