Three points:
Firstly, cattle are given BOVINE growth hormone, and not Human growth hormone. Whilst the molecules are similar, there are sufficient differences to ensure that BGH has very little effect in humans.
Secondly, eating a hormone (rather than injecting it intrvenously or intramuscularly) causes it to go through the stomach (really?!) where it is all but destroyed by the hydrochloric acid (HCl) there, so only the broken up fragments of the hormone ever get absorbed through the small intestine wall, and make it into the bloodstream.
Thirdly, growth hormone does not lead to obesity, it leads to GROWTH! So if you injected a quantity of BGH into yourself, you *may* end up fractionally taller, but you certainly wouldn't get any fatter. The cause of increasing obesity in humans is a lot more basic - too much money, too much junk food, too little self-control and too little self-respect.

I don't think so.
When I look around and see children drinking soda all day long while playing vidoe games, I'm quite sure obesity cannot be blamed on growth hormones in beef.
