If you do not know about it, I'll link the DHS site on it.

Essentially, it is a state-required card, needed for anything government regulated like public airplanes, passports etc. It will be part of your Drivers License but also include your social security number. To me, thusfar, it doesn't sound too different from a regular Drivers License. But, it also -may- have a tracking device. On the one hand, kinda creepy...on the other, if you are kidnapped or someone is known to be a suspect of a crime, wouldn't it be nice if they could be easily found?
What do you think about it? Pros, cons? Information they should or should not include?

This is the lead-in to the RFID chip implanted into our bodies by law. It is much more creepy than it is practical. Book of Revelations mentions this as the "mark of the beast" for those of you who read the bible. They want RFID chips on our hands... without one, we cannot buy or sell.

My opinion? this needs to be resisted fully. If we allow the Real ID, being forcefully chipped at birth by law is next.

A "Real ID" will be no more nor less real than any other state issued identification. If it does have a tracking device, it will only be helpful if the lost or kidnapped person manages to somehow hang on to it. You are probably carrying several tracking devices around in your pocket or purse right now. They are called credit cards and store bonus cards, but they track your movements and purcahesevery time you use them. There is a new system just out that allows you to link your fingerprint with a credit card and pay for gas and other items by simply passing your finger over a sensor. I think the "real ID' idea is a waste of money and wallet space.

I agree - some aspects of it seem good, while others seem creepy.
