and i have a huge bruise and blood blisters

is that normal?

It's not "normal" but it does happen.
You can put ice/cold on the bruise and it'll help it dissipate.
You did a good thing, please don't let this stop you from doing it again - you helped save three people's lives.

Yeah - price you pay for being nice :-(

It will settle and turn all kinds of funny colours as the body absorbs the bruising back.

Oooh - Wiki says bruising happens in <1% ... I'm sure it's more than that! :-)

On the other hand, the Red Cross girls do the phlebotomy all the time. So maybe it IS as good as that and you just got unlucky.

It is normal to get a bruise but some people do and some people don't - it also depends how easy the artery was to find when the nurse was inserting the needle and how good he/she was!.
It will clear in a couple of days!

Yes, they probably weren't the best phlebotomists, it should get lighter and go away in a couple of days.
