I think the Colts were ready, Pats just played a better 4th quarter.

Both teams will be ready if in fact they meet again in the AFC championship game as we all predict they will. There are a few things that lead me to give the Patriots the distinct advantage though.
1. Home field advantage - this will neutralize some of Freeney & Mathis' pass rush and give Brady more time to find the open receiver. Conversely, Manning will face more of a rush.
2. Special teams - The Patriots special teams won the game for them. Wes Welker's punt return was into Indy territory for the last drive was the biggest play.
3. Officiating - The crew Sunday was awful, I don't care what side you root for, you cannot objectively look at that game as being officiated well. (I'm not saying they were pro-colts/anti-pats, I'm just saying they did a bad job).
4. The 4th quarter - The Patriots were able to figure out the colts in the 4th and shifted the momentum over to the pats. I think that momentum will carry over into the next meeting.
5. Weather - Playing outside in January gives the Patriots a HUGE advantage.

People are really starting to get to me about this cheating thing. I wish people would just get over it but I guess as long as the Pats are good people will cry. If the Pats sucked you wouldn't hear anything about them cheating. EVEYBODY does it in the NFL!! I think it is funny that people are saying the Colts could of won if they had Harrison but I laugh because the Colts were winning and somewhat had the game won but the Pats found a way to win like they always do. In the end the Pats were better because they came back and won the game. The Pats still won with all those penalties and personally their defense wasn't all that great that day. It was only one game and I am glad my boys pulled it off. I don't think the Colts will be ready if they have to meet in Foxboro.

The Colts cheated because they are cheaters and their plan was that the NFL take the loss away from them, but the NFL refused to do it.
Incredible coincidence that the mic. for CBS (or Fox or ESPN or ABC or NBC before that) has NEVER caused the same sound at a stadium which is similar to a scratched CD and was simply synched with the Patriots at the line of scrimmage and it was corrected EXACTLY at the same time that the real crowd noise died down. The Colts management should be buying Lotto tickets, or at least someone to review the crowd noise CD's before being put in use.

They were as ready as they could be. Next time the Pats will be ready because next time its a playoff game, and the Pats take playoff more seriously than they take regular season games. It will also be at foxboro, expect next game to be a pats win by a large margin.

I see anyone who says anything positive about the Colts or negative about the Patriots gets a thumbs-down. What a simpleton! The game was much closer than anyone expected and if both teams can stay healthy through the playoffs, we could see one of the best Superbowls ever. Not the anti-climactic game we've become accustomed to watching every year.

No...Even with the refs trying to giftwrap the game for the Colts, they still couldn't win...They're just not as good as the Pats...
And Peyton chokes in bigger games...and the playoff game will be in Foxboro...in the cold...The Colts won't have the luxury of the Dome...

Did nobody read yesterdays news? The colts were cleared of all charges by the NFL. But it was a good attemped by the patriots to change the center of the "cheating" eye to somone else. The Colts were ready, and were ahead in the 4th.....it was there game to loose and they did. I think Manning is a better quarterback...its easy for a quarter back to know where to throw a ball when he sees the defence on cheating tapes. Its easy to say when you see this defence you need to throw there.....even his supermodel girlfriend can do that.

I think they were ready, but just a little short handed on the receiving end. Also they played about 3 perfect quarters. If they just could have played one more good quarter it would have turned out differently.
