Since the Bucs need to restock their minor league teams and also get major league ready players with potential, here's what I propose:
Bay to the Angels for minor league shortstop Brandon Wood and minor league RHP Nick Adenhart. Wood is a great fielding SS and almost MLB ready. Also he is expendable because the Angels have another SS, Erick Aybar, who is considered the gem of the organization. Adenhart had 2 good minor league seasons after 2005 elbow surgery. He is also rated highly and major-league ready. I think it'd be a good trade for both teams.

The thing is Jason Bay only makes $3,500,000 a year and the Pirates really can't pay much more than that for his replacement in a trade.

There would have to be some kind of a multi player deal to balance things out. There really is no good trade for Bay straight up due to the Pirates budget.

The best I could come up with is Nick Markakis from the Orioles who's numbers look like this .300 | HR 23 | RBI 112
and possibly swamping pitchers to balance things out.

Joe Crede for Jason Bay.

I like the Pirates and White Sox, eespecially Josh Phelps! Will he be with the team next year?

With the Braves I believe an option would be Matt Diaz, which would give the ability to play everyday for Pittsburgh as well as a few minor league players, I couldn't begin to think of who the Braves have been able to keep their minor pretty well stocked despite the playoff runs.

As a Dodgers fan I would be willing to give up one of the younger players for Bay, how about Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier? I believe the best years for Bay are ahead of him and both Kemp and Ethier are solid young players for the Pirates to build on, what do you think?

Could Jason Bay's stock get any lower after last season? They should wait till hes hitting .450 after the first week of spring training then shop him around.
