Ok so..
I was born in Houston,TX
I now live south of Pittsburgh,
I chill in the projects smoke blunts and listen to rap and also have a lot of ghetto black friends that I chill with all the time.
But at the same time I love hunting, collecting and shooting guns, driving trucks, going to dirt track car racing in the country, listening to johnny cash and hank williams jr, and chewing redman and skoal.
I also have plans to join the army with in the next year.
What would you call me.

I'd say yeah. You are a redneck who lives in Pittsburgh and smokes blunts while chilling with your black friends in the projects. When you join the Army you're going to have to stop that blunt smoking and don't bother bragging about how you chill with your black friends in the ghetto either. Good luck.

I'd call you misplaced. Thank you for choosing to serve our country. Oh by the way do your "ghetto" friends know about your "alternative lifestyle"? I was just wondering because I am sure you get lots of ribbing for it. I listen to Chris LeDoux and love watching NFR, the people at work are into acid metal and rap. I take a lot of flack off of those guys, but in pure fun.
Good luck in the military, and don't let go of your country roots becuase in the end that sounds like that's where your heart is.

I'd call you a typical American Kid growing up in a suburban metro area, don't get hung up on Labels, just be yourself..
Good luck on the Army thing too... Joining the AF was the best thing for me. Make sure you get a job that can transition in the civilian world.... And if you can, get a Job that requires a Top Secret clearance (Clearances are like and education, they will stay with you even after you get out of the military)

I saw on the history channel that the word "redneck" came from coal miners in Appalachia who wore a red bandannas around their necks.
I have also heard that its a Presbyterian thing. So there was alot of Presbyterians in Scotland, and then they moved to Appalachia, and wore red cloths around their necks so that everyone knew they were Presbyterian. And then people started calling them rednecks.
But in the modern usage of the word, I'd say you might be a redneck. You should only call yourself redneck if you're proud to be one though.

I don't think that you should not be labeled as a redneck. When I think of a redneck I think of someone who is racist, sexist, and any other ist in the world. they are narrow-minded assholes. I would just say that you are a typical person. You enjoy doing different things. your diverse. enjoy it!

You can't get Redneck rewards. You just a runaway child or a loser, don't know about who you are and what you going to do.

"If your front porch collapses and more than three dogs die, you might be a redneck," or "If your family tree does not fork, you might be a redneck."
