Anyone can make it so their number doesn't come up. All you have to do is type in *67 (if i remember correctly, I haven't done it in a while) and your phone number will not show up when you call someone. Also some cell phones even have the option in the menus somewhere to turn off your caller id which also will block your number when you call someone.

Calls show up 'unknown' because they're either blocked by the person calling you, or because they're not in your address book on your cell.
Try these two calling sites to find out who it might be. It will only show up on these sites if others have complained about the number .

www.800notes.com
Or, you can google the number and see what comes up.

Hi Momof2
I’ve had a similar problem with unidentified callers. I tried using the free searches but they won’t give up any information for free other than the state the caller is from. The best paid program I’ve seen is Spokeo which can be found at http://whosonphone.com/ . It gives you the caller’s name, address, carrier/provider, etc.
Good luck and I hope I could help!

Yes anyone can hide their number, although it can also be T-Mobile calling.
Adding your number to the 'do not call' list takes up to 3 months, they just don't tell you that bit. Only landlines are quicker than that.

you can block your own cell phone number and it will show up unknown. but more likely it is a sales company.
