The force was destined to be left in darkness by the Emperor. Only by turning to the darkside himself was he able to defeat the Emperor, only he ever could. By killing him and then dying himself he dertyed the dark side, the Jedi were able to return to the galaxy through his children and so the force was brought back into balance as it always had been before with both light and dark. Without Anakin there be no light.

At the time, the Sith (who were actually a race who was naturally adept to the Darkside) were all but extinct. Because of this, there was an overabundance of (Lightside) Jedi. So, when Anakin became a Sith lord, he DID in fact bring balance, because there was a greater presence of the Darkside in the Force, balancing out the Light and Dark sides of the Force by bringing his intensity in the Force to the Darkside.

He was believed by the Jedi Council to bring balance by all but destroying the Darkside. But, you cannot have balance in anything without good and evil. The Council's own ignorance blinded them to the aforementioned fact.

Hope this helps!

The lightside of the rigidity became heavily weighted by way of each and all the Jedi. while he helped spoil them, he became allowing the darkside to strengthen. merely Anakin/Vader could of been able to decrease it incredibly. for this reason balancing the rigidity. it is not a rely of numbers like a lot of think of that's. It did not rely what share Jedi and Sith there have been. The Jedi permeated the rigidity and while the have been wiped out, the Sith have been allowed to imbalance it much greater. Anakin did not would desire to attend that long to deliver stability nevertheless, he merely made the incorrect determination and existence had to attend longer for the time and subject to be proper returned. remember, Luke made the determination that Anakin did not. He chosen to not strike down his enemy collectively as Palpatine watche. (Anakin vs Dooku, Luke vs. Vader.)

you can tell those who guess and those who know Star Wars by these answers.

According to Star Wars lore,

Anakin had nearly destroyed any chance of fullfilling the prophesy when he joined the dark side.

However there was still good in him, and seeing his son dying at the hands of the emporer forced him t realize there was a need to end the evil of the Emporer.

It is said that something in him switched at that moment, visions of his past and those he once loved filled his head.

but he also knew that as long as he or the emporer lived, there would be no balance.

So he sacrificed himself to bring balance to the force, taking the emporer with him.

In my personal opinion, he actually did not bring balance to the force. He actually swung the balance to be in favor of the Light Side of the Force.

First he went to the dark side. He later was taken to salvation via his son Luke, destroying his Sith Master, Emperor Palpatine. By his coming back to the Light side, and then dying, he eliminated the dark side of the Force. Thus, the light was in complete control of the force.

Balance generally means that both sides are equally present. In this case, the dark side of the force was destroyed.

My opinion is that he evened the odds. He eliminated all but two light side jedi. There were only two living sith. Therefore, balance.

The only things he didn't count on was that his child would be just as strong in the force as he was. He didn't come to that conclusion until after he learned that Luke was still alive in A New Hope.

Losing his mother obviously started it all as far as going to the Dark Side...See The Phantom Menace...but he was good in his final act in saving Luke from the Emperor...See Return Of The Jedi...

So, I guess you could argue that he did actually
