If you consider the following factors better than yes:
Poor Hygiene
Poor Infrastructure
Living close to or in France
Having all of your best Health Care Providers moving to the US
Having criminals and extremists to be the only people with guns.

So no only if your are a left leaning socialist. In that case I will help you to find a home and buy you a ticket to move.

Paul:
I have been to Europe and found all of the statements listed above to be true. Socialism has ruined that entire continent, and has obviously infected you as well. Enjoy being twenty minutes late for work today (I can't figure out why you would be since you most likely will not bath unless this is your bathing day)

There are of course, cultural differences between the countries in Europe, but generally, Europeans are not as materialistic as people in the US.
Edit:-
Jasonush, I have just read your hilarious comment and I suggest you do some homework, preferably at home.
Don't come to Europe - the culture shock could be too much for your brain cell to handle. You would be completely out of your low depth.

It seems they know how to "live" better than we do. I have travelled europe and can appreciate the lifestyle very much. I had a great time meeting and conversing with people from different countries in europe.

Europeans have longer vacations, which may allow them more often to do things that give them pleasure

However, I bet that the United States is a tempting fruit for many Europeans...
