Go ahead and have a cup of coffee. You are in for a long day, take advantage of the opportunity to have a little caffeine. But, drink some water or juice as well.

Yes but drink water too. It could take a while for the induction to work and you shouldn't risk dehydration - I wasn't allowed out of bed once I'd been given the drugs to induce the baby and I wasn't allowed any food or drink either.

depends if you are having a c section- i would drink it because they will give you NOTHING at the hospital for possibly hours (as long as it takes you to be delievered) because they could have to do a c-section in the end and want nothing in your belly.... if you are strictly getting induced drink it because it could be a long time before you get anything but ice chips

when referring to "clear liquids" as part of a medical procedure, black coffee is considered a clear liquid. but i would try water...after you get there, they will let you have ice chips and that's about it.
you body doesn't need to be worried about trying to digest (or your kidneys trying to cleanse) food or drink while you're going through labor and delivery. that's just added strain. that's one reason why they ask you not to eat.

haha probably not, but I did drink coffee during my labor. My mom brought me starbucks on my way down to the hospital... they didn't really appreciate it, but I didn't care.
