Just how high does the price of foreign oil have to go before we finally say enough is enough?

Maybe $200/barrel is enough to force some animals to relocate?

What cave have you been living in? The Alaska Pipeline began pumping out oil in 1977 and has since pumped out over 15 BILLION gallons of it. It is 800 miles long which make it one of the longest in the world. Those of us lucky enough to live in Alaska receive a lovely bonus of an oil dividend made from the profits invested from the oil. This year it was $1654! However, Alaska does not have and never did have enough oil to satisfy America's appetite for it. All the wildlife involved does not mind the pipeline being there. In fact, the 4 legged animals enjoy standing near it because it is heated and that helps keep them warm in the winter.

I'm opposed to that.

What are we going to do, eventually become a nation of oil wells? Huge oil derricks everywhere you look?

You surely must know that there are alternative energy sources. We should put out money into making them more affordable. If not, what's humanity going to do when all the oil is gone? [We're already over the peak -- it's downhill from here.]

And by the way, we're still paying less for gas than Europe and the U.K.

I think we should. Even though truthfully, I think ridiculous prices at the pump are a scam by the gas companies. But there has to be more oil somewhere, if you don't dig how do you know. We have enough technology that we can reduce damage to the enviroment to a minimum.

the question should be when will we grow up?? stop buying all thes big suv,s big trucks just for to look good and stop driving all over the place just for fun . and since when do we allow OIL companies to hold us hostage so as their is no alternative fuel that can be allowed that is cheap ? is it selfishness that is now the rule in america? WE THINK WE HAVE TO DRIVE EVERYWHERE AND BY OURSELF .
big DADDY ,, GOVERMENT also has to stop being tied to big oil SO THAT we stop going in debt using old fossil fuels that are out dated. to bad greed will never allow this. mj

Good God, yes. I'm tired of relying on the Middle East. Three dollars a gallon is too much. Screw the animals.

Get rid of the goofy liberals and we can start drilling the next day.
They are going to green us right out of existence.
