My son is 7 months old. He has been acting okay, but for the last four days now, he's been pooing about 7-8 times a day...sometimes 3 poos before 8am! He normally goes about 3-4 times, so this is quite strange. In addition, the consistency is very liquidy, not mucusy, just very soft and sometimes water-like...colors rotate from green, yellow to brown.

He has gone through all the veggies and started fruit on Monday (bananas) which he liked and thought it would bind, but it hasn't done a thing. He is also rejecting food now - won't drink his whole bottle, etc. He wouldn't eat bananas, apples or any veggies either. Just cereal mixed with his formula.

Some people say its teething, but I don't feel any bumps in his mouth. I am taking him to the doctor this morning, but wonder if anyone has any insights.

just because you don't feel anything on his gums doesn't mean that he's not teething.I believe that this is the reason especially if he cries more than usual,if he can't sleep well etc.About the poo thing green color means that he doesn't get the ammount of food he should and yellow is because of the teeth(my first daughter had the same thing). He will definetely poo more times during the day since they're water-like.He should be fine after this teething period.Take care

You can go and have him checked, but it sounds like teething. You wont always feel bumps, especially in the beginning of the teething process- which is actually the most painful.

I dont know why is causes the poop issues, but it always does. Ive never known a teething baby who at some point didnt get the runs from it, or just a lot of poops.

Its normal for them to revert back to a regular softer easier food, like just the breast, or just the formula, or cereal when teething too.

IF he's not fevery and he is eating enough of something I wouldnt worry about it. It honestly pretty normal.

Teething is totally possible, but a great idea to take him to the doc

signs of teething can last for months before a tooth erupts... sometimes the signs can come and go... they did for us, my daughter started drooling, fussing, bad diapers, sometimes her gums would be red for a week or two, then it would go away... started at about 3-4 months and she finally erupted her top 2 teeth on the same day at 10 months.

so don't look for bumps, bumps just mean a tooth is about to erupt, signs of teething does not always indicate a tooth is popping out in a few days... all you can do w/ teething is to keep them as comfortable as possible!

i dont think it has anything to do with teething or the food you're feeding him. He might have a virus or something like that that should be checked out by a doctor. They should be able to give him something for it. going to the bathroom that many times a day the way its kinda runny could make him dehydrated. if he's not taking a bottle then there needs to be some sort of liquids going into his body.
