Brown said "The central purpose of this legislative programme is to make the right long-term changes to prepare and equip our country for the future and to meet the rising aspirations of the British people."
Do you think it does or is the Government just recycling the same old rubbish?

I was hoping to view some comments from Labour supporters before posting my own input, but alas they all seem to avoid the 'difficult' questions.

I have to say I was entirely deflated by Brown's 'vision' yesterday and was honestly expecting him to pull out at least one or two rabbits out of the hat, but alas no. It was just the same tired rhetoric and proposals that he has and his party have been touting since his coronation (if not before in some cases such as Crossrail). A missed opportunity to regain some initiative.

My rising aspirations started falling in 1997, when New Labour came into power.
They fell at a fairly constant speed, until Self-elected Brown
took charge.
At this point they nosedived and have been in freefall ever since.

what has he actually done, OK we can now fly the flag 24/7 all year round, but what else has he done, he talks a lot that's for sure, and he is full of promises he knows he cant keep. ( British jobs for British people, sorting out immigration ) we need action not words and i don't think we will get them from brown, as someone said he is like a bad sequel.

Same old garbage as usual! Cameron had him well and truly by the short and curlies and becomes more confident each time I see him. The only aspirations I have re. this government is to see them get their comeuppance for all the lowdown dirty lying tactics they have used. Especially the one about the referendum

What rising aspirations? Being unable to buy a house? being stuck in a crappy dead end callcentre or service industry job, relying on tax creds to survive, whilst all the decent jobs are outsourced? Or being given to migrants? Thats about your lot in Britain today.

Usual short term ideas. Increases in tax invariably come to fruition but it is on how the money is spent effectively that Labour usually fail to deliver. I suspect revenue will vanish into it.

Promises are said to be broken. Politicians usually promise many projects but people always wait for these to be achieved and often not full filled.
