Cons. I want to hear your EXCUSES on why despite these actions, nazis were still left-wing.
Nazis:
- banned the left-wing Communist Party after blaming them for the Reichtag fire.
- banned the left-wing Social Democrat Party after they were the only party that voted against Hitler's Enabling Act.
- joined forces with the right-wing Nationalist and Catholic Centre parties. These parties voted FOR Hitler's Enabling Act.
- were buddies with fascist Italy. According to Moussolini, fascism is a "RIGHT" wing ideology.
- fought on the side of the right-wing Franco government during Spain's Civil War. The left-wing Spanish Republic on the other hand had socialists and communists fighting for it.
- were very militant and believed in pre-emptive invasions.
- were ultra-nationalists (read insanely patriotic).
- were racists that believed in social darwism. Survival of the fittest. No handouts for people they believed to be inferior and no diversity.
- were extremely xenophobic.

It’s a defensive reaction on the part of right-wingers. The similarities between them and the Nazis are so obvious and stark that they employ the tactic of projection.
Don’t forget that the Nazis also established a state church –the Reich Protestant Church and elected a Reich's bishop. Hitler constantly stated that Germany was a Christian nation, until he no longer found the support of the religious right necessary.

Every ideology has extremes and you are correct when you say that the Nazis were right wing, but it would be considered extreme right. While not being what we would consider liberal, it certainly does not fit what I consider to be conservative. The whole Nazi ideology is and was based on racism and building a society of superior, by their definition, people. This is not conservatism, just plain lunatic racism.

Today's conservatives believe in freedom FROM government, this would be the opposite of Nazi beliefs. Today's liberals believe in an all controlling government that regulates every citizen's life, this is exactly what Nazis did.
If you believe the government should put a gun in the face of every citizen and force them to participate in a government controlled retirement program (social secuity) or health program (universal health care), then you are consistent with the beliefs of the Nazi party.

Your so disturbingly misinformed.
I can't think of anyone who ever said Nazis were left-wing. However, they are not republicans either.
Nazis are left over from the German Nazi party of WW2. They want a world wide government ruled by a class of the "perfect race", but with personal responsibilities instead of socialism. Nazis hate socialism and have a admiration for their screwed up version of morality.
They are an extreme without a lot of support in this country so they seem to associate with conservatives because their closer to that thinking than socialism.
The other extreme, the socialist party, has a great deal in common with the liberals and have been allowed to freely join them. The democrat party is primarily socialist these days.
Liberals embrace their extremists, and conservatives reject their's.

It is called propaganda - another thing conservatives have in common with the nazis.
It stems from thier discovery that the official name of the nazi party was the national socialists. When you do not understand something the accepted tactic is to grasp at a key word, refuse to listen to any alternative argument or examine the context - and develop an entire theory based on a desired outcome. If you want to hear this tactic put to use listen to Rush quoting Hillary.

If you look through decent history books you will note that back then, terms such as right wing liberal and left wing conservative were both used. We could argue all day but the fact that people today equate right with conservative and left with liberal doesnt necessarily mean this is the way it has always been. I would propose that right and left have nothing to do with conservative and liberal and are actually two different things that people have morphed into one.
