Is it? He's been plagued with injuries throughout his career; the most potentially dangerous being concussions, yet he continued. I've never been a fan of Eric Lindros; even when he was traded to the Leafs. During crucial moments, he'd draw a penalty. One could almost call it themselves. In my opinion he didn't contribute much to the team. Then off to Dallas he went. One season goes by, and now there's strong speculation that he will announce his retirement this coming Thursday. Goodbye Eric, enjoy your retirement...that's a retirement most of us will never get to enjoy.

When you're out of the game because no one wants you, yes, it's time to retire. Calling yourself a "unrestricted free agent" while everyone else is actually playing hockey is just a sign that you're lying to yourself about your future.

I can only assume he got the idea from John LeClaire, who may or may not have ever actually retired after the Penguins released him.

He should've retired before he went to the Leafs. It seems as if he's had more concussions than goals. I will admit I was never a fan of Lindros especially during his years in Philly (Caps fan & don't like the Flyers).

Yeah it really is time. Seriously who even realized he was playing after he left the Flyers? He should have probably retired a few years ago.

Lindros wasn't awful... as a Leafs he had 22pts in 33 games... thats a pretty good ratio...

Last year he had 26pts 49 games... thats where the slowing down was a bit more noticeable...

Yes.

With as many concussions as he has suffered, its not worth the risk of continuing to play. He had a good run.

His career was done when he crossed the blueline with his down against Scott Stevens.

Everything after that was merely an extended epilogue.
