Yesterday, I asked the same question, twice, and made a note of why I did it (to gauge a wider reaction from different groups) I provided a picture of a group of teenagers that I know, and asked people to guess their sexuality based on stereotypes.
The place where I expected it to get pulled was the LGBT category... WRONG! The one that got pulled was in the Polls and Surveys category. I guess someone just didn't like the idea of homosexuality being "known" to the public. Good luck with that one, I say.
I guess what I am trying to say is -- some people are all out idiots. They think their opinion is the only one that matters, or the only one in the entire world. I can't wait for them to get off their computers and walk down the street... they are in for a rude awakening.

Australian Rules Football section has a group of members who hang out in that section daily. And woe betide anyone who disagrees with their way of thinking - immediate blocks & thumbs down when oyou answers in other members questions.
I know what you mean.

I don't answer a question if my opinion is the same as theirs. What would be the point?
But, with a few exceptions, I try to answer calmly and sensibly.
The exceptions:
Racists.
Religious fanaticists of any religion.
Sexists of either sex.
Illegible, incoherant, idiots.

Yes, I've been blocked by several Christians, who then go on and ask science related questions in R&S. EarthQ is the most notable of my blockers.

No, I haven't yet, although I usually word my answers carefully and try and remain as neutral as possible. Of course this doesn't safeguard against all blockers, but I've been lucky.
p.s. please don't block me...
