I have no spouse! I am divorced, but I think in marriage, life
and Love, it's the little things that count, those are the de-
tails couples need to pay attention to. It sends a message!
so I think it's a good jesture to wait until your better half, is
through with dinner, it's also etiquette issues. Think about
if you have guest for dinner or is in a dinner party somewhere, that will show no manners also.

When we eat at the table we wait on each other - except the kids they gobble down and are gone. But if we order a pizza and eat in family room, it does'nt matter to us you gets done and leaves the room. But yes it is good manners to wait until everyone is done with dinner before clearing the dishes and leaving the table.

It's polite to wait until your spouse finishes eating first before getting up and clearing the table. Makes your spuose feel as if they are going to slow or eating too much.
Not very nice.

The vast majority of the time he waits until we're all finished unless he's working on a project or needs to eat quickly. If that's the case he will apologies and then offers to do the dishes when he gets finished. It's fine with me but I'll go ahead and do the dishes anyway.

he waits but not because I'm eating, usually we're chatting over dinner about the days events and so forth and the conversation can carry on long after both plates are empty
