Like the title says my dryer works but it doesn't spin i put my shoes in then i turned it on it was working then it stopped spinning when i stopped it there was dirt in the dryer. Could someone tell me the cause of this problem.

Sounds like the belt around the drum broke. If the dryer is under warrenty then the repair might be covered. If not it is an easy repair for you.

check and see if the drive belt is slipping.
You say it works, are your shoes warm when you pull them out. If your lint trap is full, the high temp switch in the flame area will shut down the gas valve.
start by cleaning up lint and dirt in the lint all the way up to the vent pipe.

Broken belt. Burned out motor.
