For being the (self-proclaimed) people of "peace" , I've yet to find one who isn't so angry that they are hard to debate in a civil manner.(Most people have varying degrees of liberal/conservative views,in my opinion.)

It's obvious that I lean toward the conservative side or I wouldn't be debating with the VERY liberal BUT to assume that I condone the VERY conservative zeal is an over reaction. The venom in some of your answers is proving my case. I've had many more ultra-conservatives discuss their views without veins popping in their necks than their counterparts. (Let's keep religion and FOX news out of this, please:)

Maybe the extremes are equally angry and I just haven't seen it. Someone ought to ask my question in reverse and see how often CNN, atheists and baby killers comes up!It would be interesting. I don't feel I can since I already stated my views.

I consider myself very liberal...and extremely happy with life.... What would you like to debate??

(On the other side of it... I do have to agree with you... there are way to many angry people out there... Liberal and conservative!)

From what I've seen is, they lie to themselves and find new lies to perpetuate the old lies.
The rabid Radio talk show nutcase Randi Rhodes was saying that the Bush administration knew they were going to war as soon as they entered the Whitehouse. How could she know that? She really doesn't but that is just another example of how they lie to themselves and then keep lying to support the main lie. They have to have that "Moral Outrage".
Congresswoman Maxine Waters has it down perfectly, her scowl of righteous indignation is permanently etched on her face.

It's very hard to debate with someone who's arguments start with "my minister said".

The fact that they believe lies with out looking them up and disregard all evidence that disagrees with what was said in church is extremely annoying.

If you do show them reports or studies to disprove them it's always liberal rubbish and that there minister wouldn't lie.

Having said that if you do catch them on a point a Conservative will become angry or sulk faster than any person.

I consider myself a liberal, yet talk to anyone whom knows me. It takes a lot to get me angry.

Also when we are talking angry. I have heard comments like god-damned hating liberal, you unAmerican bastard, etc..

BTW: Old Scout. I told my aunt when Bush was "elected" to the White House that by the time his first term ended we would be at war in Iraq. It was just an opinon based on what I heard, and I guess I was right.

That’s an interesting observation since I see many angry posts on Yahoo Answers coming from conservatives. Not only are they angry but also insulting. Many seem to be very upset over “traitors,” reflecting their views of dissent, “defeatists,” reflecting their views of those who are anti-war, etc.

It is somewhat understandable that in view of the venom being spewed by so many conservatives in personal attacks on liberals, liberal responses might be somewhat heated.

This is a generalization. You might be talking about someone from the extreme left. Often times a person can lean so far to the left that they bridge over to the right, or vice verse.

This is probably an over generalization. I have felt the same you do, however. I just need to remind myself that the rabid tend to float to the top and shriek with the most shrill voices. Of course, it would be helpful if the less rabid were to chastise them, but that may be asking too much.

Oh be serious. Look at conservatives - always accusing others of all sorts of horrible crimes like treason merely for disagreeing, always screaming abuse and popping veins (ever heard O'Reilly talk about his ridiculous war against Christmas?) and always blaming others (poor people, immigrants, foreigners, politicians, judges, single mothers, gays) for all the problems they bring on themselves.
When liberals are unhappy about something we hold a protest, smoke some weed and get naked. Lots more fun that living your life hating everyone. It is conservatives that really need to lighten up.
