I see no contradiction. The Bible talks about what God has done on earth. It says nothing about other planets, for that is not anything humans need to know about as far as our own relationship with God is concerned. (Perhaps races on other worlds never fell from grace, so they do not need a Bible or sacraments! Ray Bradbury has a short story to that effect.)

Read CS Lewis's space trilogy, expecially the first book, "Out of the Silent Planet". Lewis was certainly a "solid" Christian, and part of his motivation for writing these novels was to address the very concern you have.

The Bible uses phrases like " as far as the east is from the west" and "the four corners of the earth" and the "pillars" that God set to support the Earth. Do you know of any scientists who believe the earth is round and floating in space and who are also Christian?

The biblical writers were not trying to give us science lessons. If life exists on other worlds, it is not mentioned in scripture for the same reason that MOST things are not mentioned in scripture: the planet Neptune, microwave ovens, the United States of America, permanent press clothing.........

Sure, I'm a scientist and a christian, and if there's life on Earth why not in other solar systems. I think alot of people misconstrue science - scientific fact is only based on the ideas believed to be true at a given point in history, i.e the majority believe in a theory and it has not yet been disproven. Science still can't definitively explain how life began - it's all still theory, and therefore cannot disprove God neither.

What is being a Christian have to do with anything.

Man screwed up in Eden, maybe God went elsewhere and tried again. We don't know. The Bible is about EARTH and THIS solar system, not the rest of the Universe.

Do you think God would tell us he succeeded elsewhere!

I think there's a good change God went to another area and tried again to make a perfect being.

For God to do Man, Fail and Give up!

Well, that just doesn't seem Godly!

And IF God did it again and again and again and finally succeeded....

The out there are people FAR better than us.

People who don't murder, rape or make wars.

There is nothing in the Bible or the teachings of Jesus or to exclude the possibilty of life elsewhere in the universe. If life arose purely by a chance "natural" process then it might be surprising if the same, extremely unlikely, chance process had occured in a lot of other places.
If it turns out that life is common in the universe this would suggest that there is a creator because life could only start by a chance natural process in very exceptional circumstances.

Not Really . The reason is that the Universe was a Unique Creation to accomodate the Earth which was to support all biological life therein.
However The Bible indicated other Creations called Angels which are spirit Beings.
As far as other life in other stars system ,nothing is mentioned about that in the Bible.
We cannot go beyond What Our Creator Has Revealed to us in the Holy Bible.
There is life in Our Creator's HEAVEN.

However if one scientifically postulates that if any thing that moves is considered life, the atoms have life ,stars have life and the whole UNiverse has life. Life is related to Time.

Time is a quantity that indicates how fast a process is taking place.Hence the Universe is a dynamic process. That means everything moves withh oscilliatory motion.therefore the Period of the Universe has a set time,Hence a constant.
If time was to vanish life would no longer exist in the Universe, because there would be no process taking place.

So if Life came into being in the finite containment of the volume of the Universe ,then Time also had a Universal begining.

Science and religion do not mix....Neither is a catalist for the other.
Religion is based on belief and is man made.
Science is based on facts, or the research of that which is known to find out how a subject matter can be used, because of its makeup.
So I am quite sure there a scientists who follow their beliefs in life and living.

Yes it is possible but may never be proved as the distance is so great it is near impossible to communicate with them. To even try and transmit enough energy to get there, only with a very directional antenna. The energy will decrease as the square of the distance.

Despite the pronouncements of some religious humbugs - notably creationist liars and fools - it is entirely possible to be Christian and not to believe the drivel they spout, which is scientifically and theologically drivel.
