Who else could I be, child?

"Shouldn't you be yourself Whoever that is? Regardless of what people may say?Is this than the really truth?" ... oh, wouldn't it be lovely if Christians allowed this to be true of people who do not believe the same things?

Every person has an identity, and is unique by virtue of having one. However, your identity isn't unique in being defined in a different way than anyone else's is. It's unique in that you can make it what you want. It depends on the choices you make and what you do with what you're given in life--internally and externally.

Never fool yourself into thinking that you have to "discover" some internal part of you. You have to make yourself who you want to be, and the most important part is finding out who you want to be!

P.S. That doesn't mean there's no "tapping into emotions" involved. That's what people really mean when they say they want to "discover" something in themselves. They're not really sure how they feel about something. It's a kind of deciding given all of the factors in your life, although it's a bit different than a completely cognitive kind of doing so... hmm...

All human beings are composed of many facets of personality traits, like the facets of a diamond.
The truth is that on different occasions, there are facets of you that shine brilliantly, and that has nothing to do with what you are inside. Inside the brilliance ,honed by skills, experience, practice and talent, we are all carbon molecules.
If you had worked to make certain parts of you shine, yes that is you.

Interesting question! in Jeremiah 17:9 it says, The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? So anyway, I think it is possible to lie to ourself but with Christ we can understand this, repent, and have a heart more in step with his heart.

No, my heart doesn't tell me who I am, the Word of God does. God tells me who I am in Him and that is all that I need to know to be free from judgement by others or even myself.

I carry with me no pretenses. I am who I am. I have found that I like me, sometimes. My life experiences have also helped mold me into this woman that I am. I am being truthful about who I am.

Whatever you think about yourself, you can only be what others agree you are. If you think you are showing your best side always, perhaps you are cheating.
