35weeks and not sure if my water broke!!!!!!?

Question

i went to the toilet tonight and i went for a wee, i thought i had finished but all of a sudden after a pause this gush of what i thought might of been my water came out but mabie i just hadn't and it was wee. If it was my water what colour would it have been cause there was just the colour of wee.

have had no leaking since.

i havnt lost my mucus plug yet, it was probebly just wee. dont contraction start pretty much straight away or not long after your water breaks

whats with the 'why can't you just say pee comment'? Wee is a normal name for it, in oz anyway. silly person.


Anywho....waters are usually clear (sometimes greenish in colour if there is meconium in it - baby poo which is a bad sign) but if no more has come out and you feel okay, I would wait till tomorrow and check with the doc to make sure it didn't break. sometimes your hind waters can break which usually isn't a lot of fluid and is okay to go for few more weeks till labour starts.

also people can have their waters break and still need to be induced 24hrs later. also only 4 % of labours begin with water breaking, its more likely to happen naturally during established labour or broken manually by the doctor. some people give birth with the baby still in the bag of waters.

if you are still worried tomorrow speak to the doc.

This is a hard one..my water broke with 2 of my kids right after I went pee. So it could be. But you are rather early too. although sometimes your bladder may sometimes leak a little especially that far along. you may have had a little pee left over that you didn't realize was still coming. I'd stay aware of what's coming out at this point. I don't think your Dr will make you come in unless you have a consistent flow or trickle of fluid continuing to come out. A good way of being able to tell is if you lye down then stand back up and if you feel even a small trickle of fluid come out when you do then your water probably broke and the baby's head is acting like a cork in there and not letting as much fluid out for you to tell if it is your water or not. Also, it should be clear not yellow..but like the other woman said if the baby went poo in there it could change the color of the fluid to appear like a urine color or a greenish color. Id probably go to the doctor, contractions dont always start straight away, my friend had her waters break at 3 in the morning, and at 7 the doctors sent her home because she hadnt had 1 contraction, although then they started! Head to the doctor just to be sure, there is no harm in checking, if your waters have broken and you leave it there is a chance of infection! Good luck!

when you felt the big gush did you feel like you would be able to stop it coming out?like when you wee you can stop and start your weeing but when your waters break when you try stopping it coming out you cant as you have no control over it!either way call you midwife and she will tell you whats best to do but dont worry everything will be ok and good luck.

I would call the dr--also, the fluids(your water) would smell sweet...but since it is in the toilet, you wouldnt have been able to smell it...I would put a piece of paper (tissue or paper towel) in your panties and lie down...then see if anything leaks on the paper and you would be able to smell it. My water has never broke on its own, but i do remember after my water was broke with my first child, it gushed and then it stopped and i started spotting some.

It could be either. Could be that the baby pushed on your bladder and made you pee more. You don't always completely empty your bladder. Anyhow get it checked if you are worried. When my water was broken at the hospital it kept coming out. Your mucus plug should block any leakage like that. Good luck!

a similar thing happened to me i went to loo for a wee and my waters broke but i was 38 weeks, i rang the delivery suite and they asked me to pop over so they could examine me, turns out that my fore waters had gone, they are clear just like water, some times u get the plug too if in doubt call your midwife she will tell you what to do

Nope, they might not the contractions..Just put on some knda pad to protect if it does..youll feel little bits of gushing..or trickeling...like youre peeing..but coming from your vagina..You also might have a little leakage of water from your sac so be careful and put something...like a menstral pad something that will be able to sop up..if you are...Just stand up and do your normal activities..slowly..If you feel a trickle or gushing..youll know trust me youll know..Also , when it comes to contractions.they might not start until labor begins and youre dialiating..thats what contractions do..is dialiate the vaginal walls..as your cervix softens..for baby to be delivered you have to go up to ten centimeters..So you hang in there and dont stress..Youll have your bundle of joy Soon and your Gift from God..God bless and Ill pray that you meet your baby soon..;))

it may have been your waters! they should be clear unlessyour baby has had a bowel movement but this is unlikely at 35 weeks, but itwill have been a greeny colour in this case! since you still have awhile to goi'd speak to yourmidwife about this!if they have gone you are at an increased risk of infection!

It could have been your water! you need to get that checked immediately because if it was your baby is now able to get an infection easily! most likely it would be clear unless you had meconium (baby's first stool in the water) and so it would mix with your urine and would be the same color. Please Call your doctor so they can tell you what to do!
