I am answering the "other details" question - is it "safe" to have intercourse when you are having your period. YES - it is safe (weather you use protection or not - however, I WON'T say that it's "safe" to go unprotected if you don't want to get pregnant because there is a possibility of getting pregnant at any time). There are no known problems associated with intercourse and the menstural cycle (that is what I have been told by my doctor). The only problem you would potentially encounter is the "mental" issue. Most guys I know don't like to "ride the crimson wave", and some of us women don't like the HUGE mess it makes. (Thankfully, I have been happily married for 15 years, and we seem to agree on the issue) But.... if both partners don't seem to mind, then know that health wise, it is perfectly safe. I am just looking forward to the day I hit menopause and don't have to deal with the icky stuff anymore :-)

If you look at a hormone chart, the first day of your period your estrogen level spikes, and remains high until ovulation, where it gradually drops off, and progesterone increases, until you're next period. That's why women are so crabby before their period but often feel a great sense of relief once it's actually started, because that's when you get your estrogen fix, LOL.
Doing it on your period is fine. Stand up doggy style in the shower is perfect for that.

Because of all the hormones going round your body. There is no such thing as safe sex, even if your cycle suggests you can't get pregnant. Don't take the risk.

its definetly the way your hormones and physical body are feeling during the time of your period, for instance when i am on mine i will be more attracted men who i would not usually look at, i feel tingly and very tempted to have sex.
Depending what part of our menstrual cycle we are on, females also give of a certain sexual scent, in turn this may attract and arouse not just you but the person u have your eye on.....similar to animals but thats where the similarities end :)
its perfectly normal to feel more 'sexually minded' whilst on ur period :-) I do

It all has to do with the natural process of the human body. During your menstrual cycle, your hormone levels are higher, so it tends to make you want some! You are very normal, don't worry.

It has to do with the change in hormone levels. One of the things that I found helpful for dealing with moodiness around that time is taking B6 in either a bottle by itself or as part of a bottle of B Complex.
I would also recommend talking to your doctor about this to see what they say.
